Wendy & Tom |
Wendy
Solomon is the owner of Media Mate, Inc., an business based in Christiansted
St. Croix where GoToStThomas.com is produced.
Wendy was born and raised in New York, and has college and professional
experience in TV Production, Photography, Marketing, Communications,
and Design. Wendy has worked at several of the Top 5 advertising agencies
in New York, on accounts including ABC Television, Harper Collins Publishers,
People Magazine and Turner Broadcasting.
Three years later, the Fox Corporation hired Wendy as their Marketing
Manager where she wrote and produced all online advertising and promotions
for Fox News, Fox Sports, and TV Guide websites.
A friend who had moved to St. Croix months before invited Wendy
for a well needed vacation. A
short visit in 1997 turned into a long stay, a growing business, and
a wonderful marriage. |

Tom
is not only Wendy's husband, but also the bookkeeper/financial advisor/frequent
copy editor and writer for Media Mate and www.GoToStThomas.com.
At times he also serves as the calm, cool, and collected head
that on a bad day, the girls love to hate. |

Anna & Carl |
Anna & Carl
Holley vacationed in St. Croix in September 2002 and by November
that same year they were living there. Both of them grew up in Austin,
Texas, and were looking for a little Caribbean adventure. With guidance
from the pages of GoToStCroix.com, Anna and Carl fell in love with
St. Croix and now the island is their way of life. Although
she and Carl live on St. Croix, they island hop to St. Thomas and
St. John- so they can enjoy everything the island has to offer!
Anna brought to St. Croix her love of history as well as a determination to make a difference in people’s life. She graduated from Southwest Texas State University with majors in Political Science and History. |
She
has always been a history buff and has already learned so much about
her new island home. Anna's enjoyment of all the fun and interesting
events in the Virgin Islands make her the site's perfect coordinator
- you'll see taking pictures at parades and events, writing articles
about the islands, attending public and private meetings on behalf
of the website. Anna is always willing to offer guidance to island
visitors to ensure their stay is great. Carl helps his gal out by making sure everyone knows about the informative website and the web cams, he is running his off shore fishing charter business fishwithcarl.com. Carl is always there to make everyone laugh and to lend a helping hand. |

Corkey
Mc Gaughey contributes greatly to the Media Mate office. He’s
the guy that is called, day or night, when something isn’t
working. Whether
it is fixing the air-conditioning, an email application or just
listening to business concerns and offering suggestions, he’s
the guy that does it all! Corkey
has lived and worked on St. Croix for more than fifteen years,
each day an adventure and each with a smile. |

Lucy |
Lucy
was adopted by Tom and Wendy at age one and a half , in January 2004
from the St. Croix Animal Welfare Center.
It did not take her long to realize the amount of love Tom and Wendy had to give and she became queen of the house and office. She came to work daily with Wendy, who then took Lucy on daliy walks through town. Everyone got to know "the beautiful yellow lab who sat in the doorway at Media Mate". Lucy's beautiful life ended in December 2004 after an un-treatable case of tick fever. Lucy's memory still lives on at the park in Christiansted, at the beach where she would run and play in the sand, at Tom & Wendy's house where she was ready and waiting in the kitchen for scraps to fall her way and she will forever remain in all of our hearts. We miss you Lu! |

Georgia Peach Jeter |
Anna adopted Georgia Peach at the Town Lake Animal Shelter in Austin, Texas in 1998. No one knows for sure how old this dog is, but we estimate it to be anywhere from 10 to 15 years. Georgia has become a totally different dog since her year round warm weather change. She comes to the office with Anna, follows her along the boardwalk or jumps happily into a basket to be carried to and from destinations. While at the office, her activity consists of sleeping in a basket underneath Anna's desk. At home, she gets leftovers, has the choice of 2 beds to sleep in...and gets attacked by the cat. |
