| Mandal Bay is not known for it’s swimming. In fact, it is not fun to swim at this beach. What is fun is exploring the tidal pools. The terrain is rocky and pebbly and people and pelicans come here to fish. |
A favorite of tourists and locals alike. This small cove is a haven for snorkeling and for learning to scuba dive. The tropical fish will swim right up to you and will nibble on a dog biscuit provided from the vendor that you can rent your snorkel and mask from. The water is calm and clear and perfect for swimming and floating. There are snack shops for delicious burgers and hotdogs as well as local chicken with rice and beans. The crowdedness of this beach is dependent upon the number of cruise ships in the harbor that day. There are beach cocktail waiters and waitresses who walk the beach offering cold drinks to quench your thirst. At times they offer sample of Painkillers or banana daquiris. |

The beach with many names! This beach has also been named Pineapple Beach and Renaissance Beach by former hotel/resort owners. It is a quiet beach with no amenities until the property is sold and therefore maintained once again. |
| What are you doing on Sunday? Head on down to Sapphire Beach and spend the day…..and night! On Sundays this popular beach comes alive with volleyball games, good food and live music. You will be overwhelmed by the beauty of the view at the top of the hill as you drive down to the beach parking. From the hilltop you can see St. John, Tortola, a piece of Yost Van Dyke and many small cays. Named for it’s sapphire colored water, the excellent for a day of swimming, wind surfing or snorkeling. The beach is spotted with grape trees for shade. Sit back, relax, have a drink and watch the sun glisten as you head out to one of the reefs for another snorkel adventure. Take an afternoon walk on the dock of the marina. There is a large family of iguanas who live on the rocks at the end of the marina and on the left side of the beach. |
A favorite for weekend birthday parties and other local celebrations, this beach is undeveloped and surrounded by island flora. It is not unusual for sea grass to be washed up on the shore and the beach can sometimes be pebbly. There is a long stretch of sand which is perfect for your evening walk. |
Located at the luxurious Ritz Carlton Club, this beach is noted for its calm waters which invite every swimmer to ‘come on in’ for a dip! There is usually a nice breeze blowing to keep you cool. This is typically a quiet beach where you can simply relax and take in the sun. Entertainment is provided by the many windsurfers and kiteboarders who come to this beach to sharpen their surfing skills. The beach is sandy and there are patches of sea grass in the water. There is a cement walkway along the beach connecting Bluebeard’s Beach to the another perfect beach located at the Ritz Carlton Resort where there is a watersports activity center. Public access is directly past the Ritz Carlton Resort gated entrance. |

Cowpet Bay is easily accessible by turning into the Elysian Resort parking lot. There are a few very good restaurants, snack bars, gift shop and bars just off the sandy beach. The beach is lined with palm trees and offers the ultimate tropical breeze activity of napping on one of the many hammocks hung for your relaxation. The central swimming area of the beach is sandy, but the edges are rocky which makes for very good snorkeling. This beach looks out at the yacht club and you can spend the afternoon gazing at the boats moored outside of the swimming area. |

Tucked away at the bottom of the hill you will find Secret Harbor. This lovely piece of heaven is perfect for a relaxing day soaking in the sun. The beach is spotted with grape trees for shelter and hammocks for napping. There is a swim platform anchored in the middle of the bay which the kids just love jumping from. Or you can claim it for your own and catch some glorious rays out there. There is a small restaurant so you don’t need to bring your lunch or drinks, you can get them there. Also, the dive shop will rent your all the water gear you might want for the day. The owner of the dive shop was a physical therapist in the States and he specializes in teaching parapalegics and quadrapalegics to snorkel. I just love that! |
Located at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort this beach is a favorite for many. There is a restaurant for a nice lunch and a cool beverage. Palm trees shade the beach on the left side and coconut trees joined together by hammocks adorn the right side of the beach. There are some rocky areas on the right side of the beach. This beach offers quiet relaxation time. If you are so inclined, the hotel has a watersports activity center which rents kayaks and water bikes. |
Morningstar Beach is the beach that has it all. From quiet relaxing time with a good book on a comfy chaise lounge to invigorating water sport activities. Morningstar Beach is located Marriott’s Morningstar Resort. The resort has excellent lunch and bar facilities. As you park your car and cross the grassy area to the steps to the beach, keep your eyes open for some of the many iguanas that call that beach area home. So, sit back and watch the cruise ships slowly make their way out of the harbor or rent some jet skis and tear up the bay. Whatever your preference, Morningstar Beach has it all. |
